The Kratom Consumer Protection Act: What Does the Future Hold for Legal Kratom?
Kratom is still controversial and stigmatised in some parts of the United States. One of the primary reasons for this is that the kratom industry remains largely unregulated, allowing for subpar and even tainted or dangerous products to be sold under the kratom brand.
The industry requires legal regulation to protect the future of legal kratom, raise awareness of its benefits, and ensure users' access to clean, safe kratom-based products. The Kratom Consumer Protection Act is one step toward that goal.
The Kratom Control and Policy Act, or KCPA, is a framework that states and other local jurisdictions can use to draught their own kratom legislation. Convincing states of the benefits and importance of enacting their own KCPA legislation is arguably the most important step toward protecting legal kratom in the United States. It's one of the main reasons why the American Kratom Association is arguably the most influential kratom activist organisation working today.
