I'm Sophie Benmouyal, an avid reader, and I’ve been getting more and more interested in children’s literature and also in the whole creative process that sits behind it. I really like unpacking different illustration styles, how stories unfold, and the shifts in publishing trends, too, while I’m learning how authors turn a spark into something for young audiences. Lately I’ve been researching top children's publishers Canada just to get a better grip on the industry, find books that feel genuinely inspiring, and keep up with ongoing conversations about quality children’s publishing and the making of books, which is kind of the point, I guess.
